What is syrinx.

 

What is the syrinx?

    Syrinx is a neurological disorder  in which a fluid field cyst . Syrinx forms within the spinal ord. The syrinx can geeing big enough to damage the spinal cord and comprace nerve.

 

What is the cause of syrinx?

    Generally a syrinx develops when the normal flow of CSF around the spinal cord or lower brain stem is disturbed.

          When syrinx’s affect the brain stem the condition is called syringobulbia.

Symptoms:-

  • Pain
  • Progressive weakness in arm and legs
  • Stiffness in the back shoulder neck arms or leg
  • Headache
  • Loss of sensitivity to pain or hot and cold especially in the hands
  • Numbness or tingling
  • Loss of balance
  • Loss of bowel and bladder control
  • Problem with sexual function
